SunTime is a browser extension built to help you track sunlight and align your routine with your circadian rhythm. This page explains what data the extension uses, why, and who it's shared with.
What we collect
To calculate sunrise and sunset, SunTime uses your location — obtained through your browser's geolocation API (with your permission) or a city you enter manually. We also save your preferences locally: chosen location, widget position on screen, preferred search engine for the new tab page, and time format (12h/24h).
Where your data is stored
All preferences are saved only in your browser, through the extension's local storage (chrome.storage.local). SunTime has no server of its own, requires no login, and keeps no database of user information.
Sharing with third parties
To work, SunTime sends your location (coordinates or city name) to two public APIs: api.sunrisesunset.io, which calculates sunrise and sunset times, and geocoding-api.open-meteo.com, used only when you type a city manually, to convert it into coordinates. These requests contain only what's needed to respond — we do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising, credit scoring, or any purpose unrelated to the extension.
Remote code
SunTime does not load or execute remote code. All code ships bundled inside the extension, exactly as it was reviewed and published on the store.
Your control over your data
You can change your location at any time in the extension's settings. Uninstalling SunTime or clearing your browser data erases all locally saved preferences.
